APC Mouthpiece Debunks Rumors of Samura Kamara Being Sworn in as President

The Publicity Secretary of the All People’s Congress (APC), Sidie Yayah Tunis, has firmly debunked widespread rumors suggesting that former presidential candidate Dr. Samura Kamara is about to be sworn in as the next President of Sierra Leone, replacing incumbent President Julius Maada Bio.
Speaking during a recent interview on public media, Tunis called on APC members and supporters to shift their focus toward the 2028 general elections, rather than lingering on the unresolved issues surrounding the 2023 polls.
Tunis acknowledged that a small faction within the party continues to promote misleading narratives from the 2023 elections, including unsubstantiated claims that President Bio could be ousted and replaced by Dr. Kamara. He categorically dismissed these assertions as unrealistic and deceptive.
He also addressed rumors that surfaced during one of President Bio’s recent international trips, alleging that Dr. Kamara was “barbing his hair and ironing his suit” in preparation to assume office. Tunis criticized such claims as deliberate misinformation meant to stir confusion and create false hope among party supporters.
“As a party member, I have a responsibility to tell our people the truth,” Tunis stated. “And the truth is that we must prepare for 2028.”
He urged APC loyalists to ignore distractions, reject conspiracy-driven narratives, and instead focus on strategic planning and unity within the party as it looks ahead to the next electoral cycle.
