After DNA Result Confirms Paternity of Edwina’s Child… Court Orders Justice Stevens To Pay Monthly Child Support and Welfare Until Child Turns 21

The ongoing paternity dispute between Justice Momoh Jah Stevens and Edwina Jamiru took a dramatic turn after a DNA test tendered in court confirmed that Justice Stevens is the biological father of Edwina’s child, with a 99.999% probability match.

Following the submission of the DNA results, the presiding judge, Justice Augustine A. Musa, on Friday, October 24, 2025, ordered Justice Stevens to pay Le10,000 in monthly maintenance and upkeep for the child, starting December 1, 2025.

In addition, the court directed the Appeal Court Judge to cover the child’s welfare expenses through an account at the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank until the child attains the age of 21.

Justice Musa further ruled that the child should remain in the care of the mother, Edwina Jamiru, emphasizing that she must not unreasonably deny the father access. The judge added that the child should also be allowed to spend time with Justice Stevens.

Justice Musa cautioned Ms. Jamiru against discussing the case on social media and urged her to focus on the proper upbringing of the child.

He also noted that the DNA result was submitted ahead of the previously scheduled hearing date of November 27, 2025, prompting the court to reschedule proceedings in the interest of a speedy resolution and the best welfare of the minor involved.
