Ady Macauley Woos Delegates In Bombali District

On July 2nd , 2025, delegates and stakeholders of the All People’s Congress (APC) from Sheborah Chiefdom in Makeni, Bombali District, gathered in high spirits to welcome leading APC presidential aspirant, Lawyer Ady Macauley, and his team. The event opened with prayers from both Islamic and Christian clerics, symbolizing the party’s commitment to unity and religious diversity.

Bombali District Chairman, Hon. Martin Bangura, delivered the welcome address, reaffirming the district’s reputation as the historical “rock” of the APC.

While acknowledging that many aspirants had visited the region, he urged attendees to pay close attention to what Macauley uniquely brings to the table.

In his address, Ady Macauley anchored his message in faith and patriotism. A devout Muslim, he underscored that leadership is a divine mandate realized through the will of the people, urging delegates to choose wisely in selecting the party’s flagbearer.

As part of his grassroots-centered leadership vision, Macauley announced a donation of NLe 50 million to each district, including Bombali, to support the ongoing party registration drive. He described the donation as a reflection of his belief in building the party from the ground up—by empowering structures at the ward, constituency, and regional levels.

Reflecting on the country’s recent political and social unrest—including the August 10 protest, the Pademba Road incident, and the Lunsar unrest—Macauley emphasized the urgent need for responsive and accountable leadership. He stated that these painful episodes serve as stark reminders of the cost of failed governance and a disconnected political elite.

He pledged to maintain regular visits and open lines of communication with party structures at every level, reiterating that the grassroots are the true engine of the APC’s success. His commitment, he said, is to a leadership style that listens, responds, and reflects the real needs of the people.

In closing, Chairman Martin Bangura urged members to shift from complaints to action. He reminded attendees that reclaiming power requires courage, unity, and strategic focus.

Citing Ady Macauley’s dedication and consistent defense of the party during difficult times, Bangura encouraged members to support whoever emerges as the flagbearer.

“Power is a life-and-death struggle,” he stated, “and we must stand together to reclaim our rightful place—State House—with the right candidate.”
