On Friday, August 22, 2025, leading All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant Ady Macauley joined mourners at the residence of Ambassador Omrie Golley to extend heartfelt condolences following the passing of Mrs. Golley, the mother of the distinguished diplomat and respected party stalwart.

The solemn occasion brought together family members, close friends, and political allies to honor the life of a woman described as a pillar of strength and wisdom. As part of the commemoration, Macauley signed the Book of Condolence, offering his respects on behalf of himself and his supporters. He was received by Abdul Malik Bangura, who welcomed him on behalf of the Golley family.

In a brief yet touching message, Ady Macauley offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and extended his deepest sympathies to Ambassador Golley and the bereaved family. He encouraged them to find comfort in cherished memories and the enduring legacy Mrs. Golley leaves behind.

Beyond his message of condolence, Macauley used the moment to emphasize the importance of unity within the APC, especially in times of grief.

“It is in moments like these,” he stated, “that we are reminded of our shared humanity and the duty we owe one another—not only as party members but as a family.”

His presence at the mourning ceremony was not only a personal gesture of solidarity but also a reflection of his enduring relationship with Ambassador Golley and his commitment to strengthening ties within the APC. Many attendees viewed his visit as a powerful demonstration of respect, humility, and compassion.

Ambassador Omrie Golley, a former Sierra Leonean envoy and prominent figure within the APC, has long been influential in shaping the party’s vision. The loss of his mother has prompted an outpouring of condolences from across the country and within the APC’s leadership.

Friday’s gathering served as a poignant reminder of the values of unity, respect, and support that bind members of the APC, even in times of sorrow. For Ady Macauley, it was also an opportunity to reaffirm his belief that the party’s strength lies in its solidarity—not only in political struggle, but also in moments of shared personal loss.
