Ady Macauley Strengthens the Hope of Traders and Fishermen in Tombo

The political heavyweight and leading All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Ady Macauley, has paid a visit to the Tombo community, where he inspired renewed hope among traders and fishermen.
Mr. Macauley received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from residents of the fishing town as he interacted closely with traders, fishermen, and youths. Walking through the narrow paths of the community, he listened attentively as the people shared their daily struggles—particularly the lack of modern cooling facilities to preserve their fish. Many lamented that they are forced to rely on traditional smoking methods, which not only reduce product quality but also harm the environment.
Addressing the community, Ady Macauley shared his vision for a better Sierra Leone. He pledged that, once elected President, he would promote sustainable and inclusive development, empowering women, young people, and communities like Tombo by supporting local industries and protecting the environment.
He also took the opportunity to speak on the ongoing Kush crisis, which he described as a national threat. He urged young people to stay away from drugs and instead embrace innovation, unity, and hard work as the foundations for a brighter future.
Macauley concluded his visit by reaffirming his lifelong commitment to justice and fairness, recalling the dark days of the “Tombo incident,” during which he stood firm to secure the release of those unlawfully detained.
“My visit today is a reaffirmation of that same spirit — that no community or citizen should ever feel abandoned,” he emphasized, noting that Sierra Leone’s strength lies in its people.
He ended by calling on the community to support his bid for the APC flagbearer ticket, as prayers and warm exchanges marked the close of his visit.
