As his errand boy Indicted for Corruption… Will ACC Capture the Big Fish in Lands Ministry?

By Kelvin Jay
Following the indictment of Noah Alpha Fornah for corruption, who is the Director of Lands-North-East Region, many are now urging the ACC to get into the bottom of the investigation and bring all those involved to book.
Report reaching Voice of Salone Newspaper reveals that prior to Noah Alpha Fornah being indicted for corruption, the latter had stepped on the toes of many people, using his capacity and the connections he has with the Minister of Lands, Dr Turad Senesie. The Seizure of the land of Alpha Conteh at Tokeh Village was pioneered by Noah Alpha Fornah, based on the refusal of the claimant to give him a portion of the land for it not to be reclaimed by the Ministry of Lands. Noah, according to investigation, contacted Alpha Conteh to meet him at a hotel to arrive at a resolution on the Conteh land in Tokeh.
Based on the refusal of Alpha Conteh to heed to that arrangement, the Ministry of Lands, under the Leadership of Turad Senesie, ordered a bulldozer to demolish the perimeter fence of the property of the conteh family situated at Tokeh Village. Alpha Conteh tendered all documentations showing ownership of the land, but the Minister had never countenanced him, but instead stated that “all lands in Sierra Leone are state land”. The Minister went ahead to dish out the land to the highest bidders, as report emanated that the conteh family property was sold at a colossal amount of money to interested buyers, while part of the property were given to people that connected to the seat of power.
Being that the ACC has indicted Noah Alpha Fornah on four counts of corruption offenses, many people are curious to know who is backing Noah Fornah to solicit an advantage on people, and why did Noah have the guts to do what he did with impunity.
Reports gathered by this press revealed that Noah has been enjoying a field day, soliciting money from people who want, or have been disadvantaged, for the land, but he is enjoying the protection of some people in high places.
Noah Fornah is now being indicted on 4 count charges, including Soliciting an Advantage, contrary to Section 28(2)(a), Accepting an Advantage, contrary to Section 28(2)(a), Abuse of Office, contrary to Section 42 (1), and Abuse of Position, contrary to Section 43, of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008 as amended by the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Act No. 9 of 2019.
According to the particulars of offence, NOAH ALPHA FORNAH, being the Director of Lands at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning in the North-East Regional City of Makeni, on diverse dates between the 4th April and 7th October, 2024, solicited the sum of Twenty Thousand Leones (Le 20,000) for the signing of a survey plan for land bought by one Abu Bakarr Sillah, through his representative, Alfred Kamara. NOAH ALPHA FORNAH later received the sum of Ten Thousand Leones (Le 10,000) as an advantage from Alfred Kamara. The trial will proceed in Freetown.
Many are asking if the Minister has any knowledge about Noah’s out of office operation, and if yes, what has he done to curtail that?
