President Bio Bags More Support For His NO-Run-off Agenda
In his bid for a second term in office, President Julius Maada Bio has been touring the country with a message of no run-off in the 24th June election. During his engagements, he has been telling people of all the work he has done and giving reasons why they should give him another five years.
His Campaign Committee Chairman, Chief Minister, Jacob Jusu Saffa, has assured people that re-electing President Bio will be beneficial to all, as all unfinished projects will be continued and completed. He also spoke of the employment opportunities that lie ahead and how more premium will be put on agriculture, a promise that resonates well with the mainly rural communities, who depend on agriculture for their sustainance. This has seen many embrace the no run-off agenda of the President.
According to J.J. Saffa, the ‘operation no run-off’ campaign across the country is very positive, adding that there has been massive endorsement of President Bio in the Northwest and Northeast Regions, not to talk of the strongholds of SLPP in the Southern and Eastern Regions.
Jacob Jusu Saffa emphasized that His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has taken his re-election campaign messages everywhere and has almost completed visiting every chiefdom headquarters in many districts, and on these tours, he has been greeted by huge crowd of Sierra Leoneans, who have endorsed him everywhere he went with his no-runoff campaign messages.
He furthered that most Sierra Leoneans love President Bio, as they see him as a man that keeps promises, hence the name ‘Tok n Do’, a now popular slogan anywhere the President goes. He stressed that in some areas they visited, the shout of this slogan is deafening, accompanied by applause.
Many have commended the developmental strides of the Bio government in its five years in office, and this, they say has impacted the lives of millions of citizens in the areas of education, energy, the prudent management of the country’s economy, road infrastructure among many others.
His Excellency updated citizens that on account of his prudent economic and good governance policies, international partners have been eagerly pouring financial assistance to the country for a variety of development projects, which will be implemented after the elections.
President Bio, during those engagements, told the people that confidence in his government has resulted in the IMF extending the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) of US$20.8 that was disbursed on Monday; the US$65 World Bank Budget Support, the EU 100 million Euro Budget Support, and the MCC Compact by December. This, he said, are some of the tangible reasons for which Sierra Leoneans should vote for his government with no run-off for continuity.
