𝐒𝐋𝐏𝐏 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭er Cries over Maltreatment

Following the outcome of the SLPP Primary elections in Koinadugu, a frustrated SLPP Grassroot Supporter, Amidu Kusala Kathie Mansaray, has taken to social media, expressing disgust over the outcome of the delegates election, further stating that the maltreated meted out on them by their executive members.

“The party which we sacrificed for has been treated us like an under dogs”, says the SLPP, adding that the manner in which they are maltreated and maligned could have a consequence in the next general elections.

“It nice but we the grassroots of KOINADUGU are really disappointed, because those same executives had treated us like non-humans. But 2028 elections result will tell. We are tired of being called ruling opposition,” he wrote in his social media page.

Mansaray comment brings out growing tension within the party’s base in Koinadugu, with many feeling sidelined despite the SLPP holding national power.

The phrase “ruling opposition” reflects sentiments that although the party is in power at the national level, its presence and influence in certain regions remain weak or symbolic.

As internal party politics heat up ahead of 2028, voices like Amidu’s may signal a need for party leaders to reconnect with their grassroots support or risk backlash at the ballot box.
